The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario is looking for a Director of Procurement and Administration to lead procurement strategies and facility management. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is a regulatory agency that reports to the Ministry of the Attorney General. The AGCO is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming (casino, internet gaming, and charitable gaming), horse racing, and cannabis sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.
Position Summary
The AGCO is seeking a Director, Procurement and Administration (Director) to oversee the AGCO's Procurement and Administration function by applying sound business principles and driving strategies to the development of programs, policies, and systems in accordance with statutory requirements, government directives, and the AGCO's strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director will lead the procurement and facility management functions, promote AGCO's vision, mission, and values by providing strategic leadership to diverse and highly skilled Procurement and Administration teams. This role will provide strategic direction and oversight to teams responsible for sourcing, vendor management, contract administration, and the effective operation and maintenance of AGCO facilities. In addition, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the senior leaders, including the members of the Board of Directors, to develop and implement strategies that align with the AGCO's strategic goals, support operational excellence, and mitigate organizational risk.
As a change leader with a mindset for continuous improvement, the Director will be responsible for modernizing procurement and administrative services by adopting digital tools, automating processes, and utilizing data-informed decision-making to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
The Director will manage a team that includes the Senior Manager, Procurement, and the Manager, Facilities, ensuring operational excellence, compliance with corporate policies and provincial directives, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Based out of the AGCO Head Office, this fast-paced leadership position will also involve extensive engagement and collaboration with external partners (e.g., Infrastructure Ontario and other government stakeholders) as well as the development and maintenance of relationships with regulatory agencies across Canada related to procurement and facility administration.
