The role drives day-to-day production operations, vendor delivery, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost management while enabling strategic transformation and enterprise direction.

Qualifications

  • Senior leadership experience spanning operations and financial management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and own executive-level financial and operational reporting.
  • Experience leading data/reporting or analytics capability build (e.g., Power BI / data warehouse).
  • Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional partnership skills.
  • Manulife/insurance industry experience.

Job description

Director, Print & Post Operations & Financial Management will be a Senior leader and second-in-command to the Head of Print & Post. Combines operational leadership with financial and analytics leadership at a senior level, owning day-to-day tactical execution across production operations, vendor delivery, financial governance, reporting, and cost management — so the Head of P&P can focus on strategy, enterprise direction, and transformation. Reduces single-point dependency and develops a strong, resilient operating model across US and Canadian Retirement.

Role Purpose:

Combines operational leadership with financial and analytics leadership at a more senior level. Owns day-to-day tactical execution — production operations, vendor delivery, financial governance, reporting, and cost management — enabling the Head of P&P to focus on strategy, enterprise direction, and transformation.

Operations Leadership:
  • Provide day-to-day tactical leadership across production operations (fulfillment, imaging, vendor execution, output integrity, QA).
  • Ensure operational continuity, SLA performance, and readiness across in-house and outsourced production.
  • Support the operating model, capability layering, and continuity/backup planning.
  • Champion production optimization — challenging design, materials, volume, and timing for cost-effective, standardized execution.
Financial & Analytics Leadership:
  • Own overall P&P financial governance, reporting integrity, budgeting, forecasting, and cost transparency across US and Canadian Retirement.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of the P&P financial storyline to senior leadership and Finance.
  • Set the analytics and reporting strategy, including Power BI / data warehouse direction and data-quality standards.
  • Lead cost-management and expense-reduction analysis with Operations, Vendor Governance, and the Opportunity Squad.
Leadership Duties:
  • Act as senior second-in-command; own tactical decision-making; hold single-point accountability for compliance across P&P.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers and leads; build a resilient, documented, scalable operating model.
  • Partner at a leadership level with Finance, Procurement, Business/Product, IT, and the transformation squads.
  • Establish controls, audit readiness, and risk-aware decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
  • Senior leadership experience spanning operations and financial management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage vendors, and own executive-level financial and operational reporting.
  • Experience leading data/reporting or analytics capability build (e.g., Power BI / data warehouse).
  • Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional partnership skills.
  • Manulife/insurance industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Print / mail / production industry experience (or demonstrable ability to ramp quickly).
  • Experience building or transforming a function from an immature or fragmented state.
  • Experience developing and mentoring managers as a senior leader.

Salary range is expected to be between

$125,100.00 CAD - $175,100.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
