Overview

The Cash and Trade Finance Technology team provides digital solutions to our partners within RBC Commercial Banking, Capital Markets and Operations Services. Our broad range of products and highly responsive service offers exceptional value to clients.

This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced project/program delivery leader who is able to promote vision, develop strategies, roadmaps and leads execution of the evolving Cash and Trade team to enable modernization as well as strategic innovation. The role entails strategic and hands-on involvement in delivery of a variety of technology solutions within a digital ecosystem leveraging agile or iterative delivery model.

What will you do?
  • Lead, direct and oversee project portfolio and delivery teams to ensure strategic goals and objectives are accomplished within the approved timeframes, scope and budget across several initiatives, teams and application portfolios.
  • Partner with stakeholders such as business product owners, executives and technology leaders across the enterprise to understand and deliver on business needs and their impact on overall strategy.
  • Manage senior leadership communications, facilitate meetings and support project managers in the preparation or chairing of Executive Steering Committee meetings and other committees.
  • Manage portfolio financials, implement best practices, provide portfolio status reporting, lead estimation process of major multi-million-dollar initiatives, establish and oversee governance across teams to ensure consistent and successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Provide a strong voice to the business on project delivery, portfolio roadmaps of initiatives, annual initiative planning, and act as an escalation point for project-related issues.
  • Manage a team of project managers and business analysts working with multiple cross-functional teams; promote innovation, support and champion behaviors that contribute to RBC goals.
  • Use insights and influence to determine when programs or projects should pivot, accelerate or stop to respond to changing project scenarios.
What you need to succeed?
Must Have:
  • Advanced experience in Agile and Waterfall project management frameworks and SDLC.
  • 10+ years of delivery experience with technology projects ($5MM to $10MM+) with high degree of complexity and ambiguity.
  • Leadership experience on multiple technology projects and programs (10+ concurrent deliveries) with multiple interfaces, 3rd party software vendors and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing a team of at least 5+ direct reports and senior leaders.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems by connecting the dots and thinking outside of the norm, providing leadership to the team. Undergraduate degree or equivalent education or experience.
