What you’ll be doing

As a key member of the Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA) team, you’ll be working with senior People, Culture & Brand (PC&B) leaders and team members to develop and execute measurable communications that advance employee understanding of PC&B strategy, policies and programs, and align with CIBC’s purpose-driven business goals and values. As the Director, PC&B Communications, you will be responsible for ensuring that HR policies and programs are communicated in an integrated, coordinated and clear way, as well as providing PC&B senior executives with advice and tools they need to effectively communicate bank-wide initiatives.

How you’ll succeed

  • Communication strategist - Develop and lead internal communications strategies, events, programs and tactics that engage team members and leaders, and strengthen their commitment to CIBC. You will foster solid understanding of the HR policies and programs and their linkage to CIBC strategy and purpose.
  • Relationship management and business acumen - Collaborate and manage relationships with executives and senior leaders for purposes of developing and implementing enterprise communications strategies and programs.
  • Influence and advise - Influence executives and partners with regard to approach, tone, content and timely impact of communications. Provide counsel and recommendations on communications activities by offering recommendations on procedures and practices to improve the efficiency of the team and the role as well as ensuring communication strategies and tactics are successfully implemented.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment - Staying current with CIBC and HR strategywhile ensuring accuracy of information through attention to detail as well as sensitivity to context. A strong ability to execute against high volumes, swift pace, and tight deadlines, while managing multiple projects and writing assignments in a time-sensitive environment.
