Job description

The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) is a federal Crown corporation established in 1996 as part of Canada's commitment to justice, equality, and eliminating racial discrimination. With a clear vision for a future free from systemic racism and hate, CRRF unites individuals, communities, and organizations through collaborative initiatives, awareness campaigns, and mobilization efforts. By providing resources, sharing knowledge, and driving policy change, the CRRF is actively creating a more inclusive Canada, addressing pressing social issues, and ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Director, People and Culture will assess and lead CRRF’s talent strategies while acting as a trusted leader for all employees. Working with an HR Advisor, the Director will take a person-focused approach to building culture, employee engagement, and developing programs and policies that shape the future of the organization. Specifically, the Director will drive strategic growth and initiatives and the adoption of innovative practices, enabling the achievement of CRRF’s ambitious goals while integrating equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), and resilience strategies into CRRF’s culture. In providing strategic and tactical leadership, the Director will serve as a catalyst to bring to life CRRF’s vision of fostering an engaged and positive workplace culture.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced HR leader who balances empathy and pragmatism while delivering on organizational priorities. Staff see you as a trusted advisor, mentor, and coach. Forward looking and hands-on, you bring a generalist background coupled with the ability to effectively deliver on strong talent planning and development activities. Comfortable with legislative differences across the country, regulatory compliance and unionized environments, you understand how to engage and empower employees, especially those with lived experience. You have experience leading small, agile HR teams to meet the evolving needs and priorities of the organisation and enjoy and value working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. More than anything, you have positively impacted employees and organizations alike and are committed to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Salary : $110,000 – $130,000 per annum. CRRF offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes up to 8% performance bonus, 4% of annual income towards RRSP plan, and life, disability, medical and dental care insurance.
