POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Patient Growth & Prescriber Strategy is responsible for driving patient and customer acquisition through innovative and strategic engagement with prescribers, healthcare partners, and underserved communities. This role is critical to expanding Neighbourly Pharmacy’s footprint across Canada, identifying and securing new market opportunities—including RFP contracts for contracted business, group homes, and other institutional partnerships—while building sustainable relationships with primary care providers and healthcare networks.
Reporting to the COO, t h e Director will also create and drive our primary care and prescriber engagement strategy.
POSITION SUMMARY
Drive National Patient Growth
- Develop and execute a national strategy to increase new patient acquisition and pharmacy service adoption, targeting year-over-year (YOY) growth in prescription volume and patient onboarding.
- Identify and secure new market opportunities through RFPs and partnerships with LTC providers, group homes, and healthcare institutions.
- Contribute to the successful submission and award of multiple RFPs annually, supporting strategic expansion goals.
- Work alongside District Directors, Pharmacy Directors, and cross-functionally with Regional Vice Presidents and other business partners to develop and execute localized business development strategies aligned to regional priorities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to launch new business partnerships and service offerings aligned with growth targets.
Build Provider & Prescriber Partnerships
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with prescribers, physicians, clinics, and healthcare systems to drive an increase in patient referrals and continuity of care.
- In collaboration with Real Estate and Operations teams, identify underutilized clinic spaces for expansion, or convert pharmacy square footage to extend clinic reach.
- Develop targeted engagement strategies to onboard a growing number of new prescriber partnerships year-over-year, with a focus on high-potential geographies and specialties.
- Work with pharmacy operations and clinical teams to co-design programs that create measurable value for providers and patients.
Champion Equitable Access
- Design and lead initiatives focused on underserved populations, including Indigenous and rural communities, delivering tangible increases in pharmacy access and patient reach across equity-deserving groups.
- Partner with public health agencies, community leaders, and local organizations to ensure programming is culturally responsive and locally informed.
Lead with Strategy & Vision
- Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert on patient acquisition, healthcare partnerships, and provider strategy within the organization.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, setting clear KPIs and fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and collaboration.
- Partner with senior field leaders including Regional VPs and cross-functional partners, to ensure alignment between national growth strategy and on-the-ground execution.
- Regularly present growth strategies, performance metrics, and partnership outcomes to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare, pharmacy, business development, or provider engagement, within a retail pharmacy or health system environment.
- Proven business development acumen and success leading patient growth strategies, prescriber engagement programs, or new market expansion initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare ecosystem, including primary care, LTC, community health models.
- Demonstrated ability to secure RFPs, contracts, and long-term strategic partnerships.
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A passion for improving access to care for all patient populations, including experience working with Indigenous communities or underserved populations is preferred
- Undergraduate degree in business, healthcare, pharmacy, or related field required; MBA or healthcare-related graduate degree considered an asset.
