Texcan has been a leader in the wire and cable industry since 1978, consistently going above and beyond to serve its customers. As one of Canada's largest wire and cable suppliers, Texcan’s core business focuses on industrial markets, offering an extensive range of products and specialized services. The company plays a crucial role in various high-powered industries, including mining, oil & gas, technology, and construction.

Texcan is a Sonepar company and a part of a global distribution network of energy-efficient products and is uniquely poised at the heart of the electrical ecosystem. Sonepar is a leader in a vast and expanding global market, accelerating the transition to low waste, clean energy solutions and a circular economy. As the digital revolution accelerates and product technologies advance, there is an increasingly broad range of applications for electrical equipment and a growing demand for new services and wire and cable products. Texcan is a fast paced, customer-centric working environment that is highly responsive and often turns customer orders around in a few hours.

Through a network of 80 brands, spanning 40 countries, Sonepar has an ambitious transformation agenda aimed at becoming the first global business-to-business electrical distributor to provide a fully digitalized and synchronized omnichannel experience for all customers. In Canada, Sonepar operates as an independent family-owned company with a strong market leadership position in the distribution of electrical, industrial, safety products, and related solutions. It is represented by 10 locally managed electrical and industrial distributors and boasts over 100+ locations across 8 provinces.

Reporting to the President of Texcan, the Director, Operations Texcan (the Director) will be responsible for driving the operational performance and contributing to the strategic direction of Texcan’s activities, predominantly in Western Canada. The Director will oversee the operational management of local branches, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. The Canadian organization has identified some opportunities to evolve the culture to be more collaborative, which will be a key focus of the leadership team and the new Director.

The ideal candidate brings progressive leadership experience in operations within a fast-paced, multi-site B2B industrial environment—ideally within industrial distribution, manufacturing, production, and/or other logistics-driven sectors. They understand the unique blend of manufacturing-style production and warehouse/distribution, and have experience overseeing complex supply chain, transportation logistics, and inventory management functions, preferably in a high-volume, time-sensitive setting. Exposure to ISO standards and safety-driven cultures is essential.

This role is ideally based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia. However, other locations in Western Canada, such as Edmonton, AB, may also be considered.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary for this role is $160,000, plus bonus.
