Job summary

Bell is seeking a highly experienced Director of Operations to lead the Regina AI Data Centre, ensuring safe, secure, and reliable operation of Canada's cutting-edge AI facility.

Reporting to the AI Fabric leadership, the role oversees critical infrastructure, customer service delivery, security, maintenance, and regulatory compliance, while guiding vendor management and workforce leadership in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
• 15+ years in data centres or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading large-scale critical infrastructure operations.
• Strong knowledge of power, cooling, and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day ops of a 24x7 data centre environment.
• Ensure electrical, mechanical, cooling, backup power, security, and building systems reliability.
• Drive safety, compliance, operational readiness, risk management, and governance programs.
• Develop and lead high-performing operations teams.
• Manage customer relationships, service delivery commitments, and escalations.
• Oversee maintenance, incident response, change management, and BCM.
• Lead vendor performance and contract compliance.

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Director, Operations to lead our Regina AI Data Centre, ensuring the safe, secure, and reliable operation of one of Canada's most advanced AI computing facilities.

Reporting to the senior AI Fabric Operations leadership team, the Director is accountable for all aspects of site operations, including critical facility infrastructure, customer service delivery, security, maintenance, regulatory compliance, operational governance, vendor management, workforce leadership, and financial performance. This role will serve as the senior operational authority for the Regina campus and play a key role in delivering industry-leading service reliability and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day operations of a 24x7 mission-critical data centre environment.
• Ensure operational excellence across electrical, mechanical, cooling, backup power, security, and building systems.
• Drive safety, compliance, operational readiness, risk management, and governance programs.
• Develop and lead high-performing operations teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage customer relationships, service delivery commitments, operational reviews, and executive escalations.
• Oversee maintenance programs, incident response, change management, and business continuity planning.
• Lead vendor performance, contract compliance, and strategic supplier management initiatives.
• Manage operating budgets, lifecycle planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Support commissioning, growth, and expansion activities across the Regina campus.

Critical Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within data centres, telecommunications, utility operations, industrial facilities, or other mission-critical environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale critical infrastructure operations.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, building automation systems, reliability programs, and operational risk management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and external service providers.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) considered an asset.

Preferred Experience

• Hyperscale data centre operations.
• AI, cloud, or colocation environments.
• Critical facilities commissioning and operational readiness programs.
• Physical security technologies including enterprise access control and integrated security platforms.
• Customer-facing operations with enterprise or hyperscale clients.
