Job description

Our client in the software space is a wholly owned subsidiary of an established publicly traded software company. We are looking for an accomplished Director of US Corporate Tax to join an established team. You will report into a VP Tax and oversee the whole US federal and state tax reporting, compliance, provisions, and tax planning with respect to M&A activity.

Responsibilities of the Director of US Corporate Tax include but are not limited to :

  • Oversee the preparation of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax returns, work-papers and related tax functions for the group, including cross-border tax compliance filings (Form 5471, 5472 and 8858).
  • Ensure the completion of tax provisions and other accounting workbooks as part of our quarterly financial reporting process (knowledge of FDII, GILTI, BEAT and Sec. 174).
  • Monitor communication with the various state tax authorities in connection with audits, notices of assessment, and information requests.
  • Research and advise on various U.S. corporate tax matters.
  • Various other U.S. corporate income tax special projects.
  • Maintain organization's tax records and files.
  • Minimize tax liability through efficient and thorough application of current tax law in the filing of all returns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent years of experience.
  • CPA certification or working towards obtaining certification preferred.
  • 10-12+ years of experience working within the U.S. tax function of a large corporation or a public accounting firm.
  • Experienced Microsoft Office product user.
  • Experience with OneSource software, or other tax accounting software.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Confident in working directly with state tax authorities.
  • Analytical skill set with ability to work independently.
  • Strong time management focus as key deadlines span the full year.
