Qualifications

  • Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting is an asset.

  • Provide leadership and direction for the development of the Village PAL program.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders regarding therapy services.

To be successful as our new Director of the PAL, you will:

  • Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
  • Member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Provide leadership and direction for the development, and evaluation of comprehensive operational policies and programs for the Village PAL program
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders including the LHIN regarding OT / PT services, vendor relations for application resident equipment, external service providers for additional therapy / exercise programs
  • Provide leadership, support, and evaluate PAL programs and projects including restorative, restraints, falls, care conferences, and research to practice initiatives
  • Participate in Village interdisciplinary team meetings or committees as appropriate, while communicating and working in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide leadership to the PAL Coordinator and support PAL Students, Volunteers, and contracted therapy services who assist with the PAL program
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role

It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has:

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Current Heart Save Level of CPR
