About the role:
The Senior Spa & Wellness Director at Four Seasons Hotels is a visionary leader responsible for providing strategic direction, mentorship, and operational excellence across multiple properties in the spa and wellness sector. This role is pivotal in shaping the guest experience, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest level of service and profitability. As a trusted regional advisor, the Senior Spa Director works closely with Spa & Wellness Directors, General Managers, and corporate teams to maintain Four Seasons' reputation as a leader in luxury wellness.

What you will do:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Guide and mentor Spa & Wellness Directors across the region, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices to achieve excellence.
  • Provide strategic advice to regional leadership on spa trends, innovations, and market opportunities to ensure Four Seasons remains a leader in luxury wellness.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for spa-related matters during pre-opening, design, and operational phases, ensuring seamless integration of spa services within hotel operations.

Operational Excellence

  • Conduct audits and property visits to assess spa operations, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Develop and implement innovative spa concepts and treatments, keeping Four Seasons spas at the forefront of the industry.
  • Oversee the cleanliness, functionality, and maintenance of spa facilities, working closely with engineering and housekeeping teams.
  • Ensure all emergency response procedures are in place, with a focus on guest and staff safety.

Team Development

  • Identify, mentor, and develop high-potential Spa & Wellness Directors and Assistant Spa & Wellness Directors for succession planning.
  • Collaborate with Learning Managers and Designated Trainers to deliver best-in-class training programs for spa staff.
  • Supervise and guide professional personnel, including Ayurvedic doctors, wellness practitioners, and external consultants.

Guest Experience

  • Engage with guests to understand their needs and ensure personalized, exceptional experiences that align with Four Seasons' five-star standards.
  • Advocate for wellness integration within all property departments, enhancing the overall guest journey.

Financial Oversight

  • Lead budget planning, financial forecasting, and performance evaluations for regional spas, driving profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue, including innovative service menus, retail opportunities, and memberships.
  • Monitor and manage inventories, payroll, and operational expenses to ensure smooth operations and financial success.

Marketing & Brand Representation

  • Collaborate with marketing and public relations teams to promote spa offerings and wellness programs, leveraging trends and guest preferences.
  • Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, conferences, and partnerships to strengthen Four Seasons' position as a leader in spa and wellness.

Innovation & Trends

  • Lead task forces to refine spa processes, create new service templates, and implement industry best practices.
  • Advise Spa & Wellness Directors on retail product selection, marketing strategies, financial management, and wellness programming.
  • Stay informed on market trends, guest preferences, and emerging wellness modalities to continuously innovate and adapt.

What you will bring:

  • A minimum of 5 years of senior-level management experience in luxury spa operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in spa, wellness, and holistic modalities, with hands-on experience as a therapist preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams across multiple properties.
  • Proven track record of financial acumen, including budget management, revenue growth, and cost control.
  • In-depth knowledge of five-star service standards, spa staffing models, and guest-centric operations.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategies, spa menu development, and retail management.
  • Passion for the health and wellness industry and the ability to stay ahead of market trends.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral; additional languages are a plus.
