Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week + rotational on call. The incumbent will be required to work occasional evenings or weekends)

We promote inclusion, respect, and compassion through our supported community-based group and independent living, and specialized support programs. We are funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and Catholic Charities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and self-directed Director of Services to oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of our services. This leadership role is vital to ensuring that our services meet legislative standards, reflect best practices, and align with the unique needs of people with developmental disabilities.


As the Director of Services, you will lead a team of committed employees, liaise with families and community partners, manage budgets, and ensure all services operate in accordance with Mary Centre’s policies, as well as all applicable government legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support all service operations and employee supervision
  • Advocate for the rights and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities
  • Ensure compliance with MCCSS and Catholic Charities standards, Occupational Health & Safety, WSIB, and labour legislation
  • Facilitate Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings and ensure completion of annual assessments
  • Provide leadership in recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and employee development
  • Maintain accurate documentation and centralized files for programs and employees
  • Monitor and manage budgets, petty cash, and financial submissions
  • Participate in strategic planning and represent Mary Centre in public speaking engagements
  • Maintain health and safety standards at all program locations
  • Provide rotational on-call support (every second week) for the agency management team.
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in developmental services or related field
  • Proven experience in employee supervision, program operations, and government regulations related to the developmental services sector
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Developmental Services Sector, Ministry of Labour regulations, and community-based supports
  • Experience working with families, government agencies, and external partners
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
  • Valid driver’s license, daily use of a vehicle and willingness to work across multiple locations
