Nestled in Brisbane’s CBD, the InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open this winter, offering 319 spacious rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre, and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall. The hotel features over 1800 square metres of meeting and event spaces, including versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom that can host up to 1000 guests, ideal for both business and leisure events.

We’re seeking a Director of Sales with strategic acumen to help us achieve our room night sales goals consistently. We need a commercial leader capable of meeting personal and team sales targets, with the ability to develop sales plans that drive revenue and possess the analytical skills to review hotel performance.

A little taste of your day-to-day

As part of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily sales activities and coaching your team to reach their full potential
  • Achieving personal and team sales goals to maximize profitability
  • Creating and implementing sales strategies to increase occupancy, average rates, volume, and food & beverage and banquet sales
  • Producing and reviewing monthly performance reports
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key clients and external contacts

What we need from you

  • Proven experience in a senior sales role at a large, complex hotel within a luxury brand
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a dynamic team
  • Strong business acumen and commercial savvy, with effective budget management skills
  • Experience in setting sales targets, developing strategies, and overseeing revenue management
  • Ability to work autonomously, proactively, and take accountability for workload and deliverables
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Opera and Concerto systems is preferred
  • Relevant tertiary education in Business, Sales, or Hospitality
  • Fluency in English
  • Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions
