Job description

Position Objective:

This leadership and supervisory position will build and lead Kenjgewin Teg’s Indigenous (Anishinabek) research profile in Indigenous higher education. It requires a spiritual and Anishinaabemowin-connected understanding of Indigenous research theory and praxis, emphasizing First Nations control of post-secondary education. The role involves developing an Anishinabek research action plan aligned with Kenjgewin Teg’s philosophies of Anishinaabeaadiziwn, Anishinaabemowin, and trauma-informed education.

Qualifications:
  • Doctoral program candidacy (ABD) with an interest in Indigenous research topics; early-career researchers encouraged to apply.
  • 1-3 years of related research or project management experience.
  • Over 5 years working with Indigenous communities or organizations.
  • At least 3 years of leadership and supervisory experience managing research projects or teams.

  • Understanding of Indigenous perspectives and research methodologies.
  • Strategic vision to align research with organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
