Job description

The Director of Project Delivery is responsible for managing complex technology projects for the client, from initiation through to successful implementation. This leadership role requires coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, leveraging both traditional (waterfall) and agile project management methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of strategic technology implementation projects for client organizations.
  • Define and manage client expectations, including project scope, required resources, and governance structures.
  • Collaborate with clients to determine business goals and requirements, integrating these into delivery and risk management plans.
  • Develop statements of work, participate in budget and forecasting activities, and ensure a high-quality service experience for all stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate project schedules, statuses, risks, and issues to project teams and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Analyze client environments and requirements, supporting the definition of metrics and risk analysis for project delivery.
  • Establish and maintain structured communication and reporting mechanisms with clients.
  • Manage client issues and change requests, serving as a liaison between the client and internal leadership.
  • Oversee detailed project schedules and ensure that all deliverables are managed appropriately.
  • Develop contingency plans to address project risks.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across teams and with business partners.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations for future improvements.
  • Develop and promote best practices and tools for project execution and organizational change.
  • Establish and uphold project management standards and methodologies.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage project managers and analysts.
  • Collaborate in the creation and monitoring of project plans and deliverables alongside cross-functional contributors.
  • Apply expertise in business case development and risk management across projects.
  • Coordinate with related initiatives to ensure comprehensive and efficient execution.
  • Monitor progress and resources, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Stay informed about the digital healthcare and organ transplantation technology sectors.

Project Delivery Team

The Project Delivery team plans and manages the technology implementation projects for the client. This team includes senior project managers, project managers, and project analysts, and serves as a bridge between technical, product, UX, architectural, engineering, and data teams. The group is accountable for developing and executing reliable, repeatable delivery processes and metrics.

Work Location

  • Hours and Compensation
  • Minimum 40 hours per week
  • Overtime only permitted with prior approval
  • Paid time off in lieu of overtime (1.5 hours PTO for each hour of approved overtime, to be used within 12 months)
