The Role

The Director of Pharmacy Operations will lead our pharmacy team to ensure they deliver an exceptional patient experience at scale.

We are looking for an individual who is a strong people leader, has deep operational acumen and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to help teams solve problems and execute.

In this role you will

  1. Lead our two pharmacies in Toronto and Vancouver, managing a team of over 50 people.

  2. Ensure we continue to scale efficiently by driving operational excellence through analytical insights, cross-functional collaboration and hands-on process improvement.

  3. Enable new categories and capabilities within our pharmacy to support future growth.

  4. Operate with a patient-centric approach, by raising the bar on quality, challenging the status quo and keeping the end user at the forefront of the conversation at all times.

Please note: This role requires you to work in person 5 days a week in our pharmacy in Mississauga, travel to Vancouver will also be required (likely 1-2 times per quarter).

Responsibilities and Expectations

Leadership:

  • Lead, coach and manage the pharmacy team, with a relentless orientation towards creating a world-class experience for our patients.

  • Ensure our pharmacies are properly staffed to meet SLAs, while staying on budget.

  • Be the voice of all things related to pharmacy operations at Felix across the company, acting as a thought leader pushing the boundaries on what is possible when it comes to delivering a world-class pharmacy experience.

  • Identify and lead various initiatives to improve pharmacy operations, setting and delivering on aggressive deadlines.

Process improvement:

  • Ensure our pharmacies scale efficiently, by continuously optimizing our workflows.

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to automate processes and drive efficiency.

  • Measure and analyze customer and operations data to identify trends and drive areas for continuous improvement (customer feedback, operational metrics, team feedback, etc.).

Vendor management:

  • Own 3rd party logistics and non-pharmaceutical relationships to excellent service standards and margins.

Who you are

  • 5+ years in similar leadership/director level role(s) in a high-paced, growth environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

  • Strong metrics-driven performance improvement background is important, as is the ability to coach leaders to higher levels of accountability and execution.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive strategic decision-making.

  • A track record of tackling complex and ambiguous problems head-on, with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

  • Action-oriented with the ability to lead teams and drive change, with or without authority.

  • Exceptional emotional intelligence, exemplified by self-awareness and empathy, to gain the trust and commitment necessary for buy-in and transformative change.

  • A hunger for learning and a willingness to make mistakes.

  • A can-do attitude with an optimistic orientation.

  • A background in pharmacy or physical operations is considered an asset.

  • Experience in management consulting is considered an asset.

  • Experience working in healthcare is considered an asset.
