Position Overview :

As the Director of Operations reporting to the VP of the Prairie Provinces, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Southern Alberta offices. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing workflow, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of excellence within your teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, technical expertise in HVAC, Electrical Systems, and Building Automation, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • P&L responsibility : Financial management and performance for Southern Alberta including budgeting, operational forecasting, sales forecasting, CRM administration, service WIP management and project execution and delivery of booked margin.
  • Departmental Management : Oversee and coordinate the activities of all BU project and service departments to ensure smooth operations, adherence to schedules, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Resource Optimization : Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Quality Assurance : Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and motivate departmental teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide coaching and training to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
  • Compliance and Safety : Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Implement safety protocols and measures to guarantee a secure working environment for all employees.

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 7 years experience in Operations Management within the HVAC, Electrical, or Building Automation industry.
  • Strong technical background and understanding of HVAC, Electrical systems, and Building Automation technologies.
  • 5 years minimum Project Management expertise, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (excel, word, power point), Adobe Writer, Visio and basic Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
