Job description

Your Daily Responsibilities

The Operations Director is primarily responsible for ensuring that the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) plant in Montréal meets all commitments made to our customers, overseeing operations from order processing to delivery. They fulfill this role by maintaining all processes impacting the site's manufacturing operations at a high level of efficiency. They communicate a clear vision of the company's objectives and support the management team members in implementing the necessary actions to achieve them. They ensure alignment with the company's strategic objectives while maintaining customer satisfaction and cost control. The key responsibilities to optimize in this role include:

  • Health & Safety: Maintain and support the health and safety culture established at the Montréal site. Demonstrate strong leadership and ensure that all team members prioritize health and safety in every aspect of their work.
  • Site Performance: Ensure the optimization of operational performance to achieve our key objectives (KPIs) and the delivery plan in its entirety.
  • Strategic Development: Responsible for the development and execution of the plant's strategic plan in collaboration with the management team. Ensure the plan is aligned with the company's global priorities and long-term vision, including influencing the product offering to support the plant's growth strategy and future customer needs.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management
  • Over 10 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment, preferably within unionized and matrix organizations. Significant achievements in operational improvement (major advantage if in HVAC)
  • Experience in establishing and guiding continuous improvement principles with extensive knowledge of Lean methodologies (5S, Six Sigma, SMED, etc.)
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a constantly evolving dynamic environment
  • Proven expertise and achievements in change management
  • Strong ability to articulate a vision and strategy that mobilizes and motivates teams toward achieving set results
  • A team player with excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization, fostering strong relationships that encourage the exchange of ideas and perspectives
  • Bilingual – French and English
