Homewood Ravensview, a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility, seeks a Director of Nursing to lead an interdisciplinary team delivering inpatient care. You will oversee nursing practice, ensure standards, and guide program development to improve client outcomes.

A Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a psychiatric designation and CRPNBC registration is required, along with 5 years of management experience.

Qualifications

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a psychiatric designation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • CRPNBC registration or eligible.
  • Five years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of mental health, addiction care and emergency response.
  • Proficient with medication administration software.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the medical care of patients, supervise on-duty Nursing staff and oversee follow-up of medical care from other shifts.
  • Ensure nursing care and practice standards are implemented in the delivery of programs and services.
  • Review, analyse and participate in the development of administrative systems including policies, procedures and standards for care, staffing levels, scheduling for all nursing functions and staff education.
  • Promote a continuous quality improvement environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Direct the medical care of patients, supervise on‑duty Nursing staff and oversee follow‑up of medical care from other shifts
  • Ensure nursing care and practice standards are being implemented in the delivery of programs and services
  • Review, analyse and participate in the development of administrative systems including policies, procedures and standards for care, staffing levels, scheduling for all nursing functions and staff education
  • Promote a continuous quality improvement environment
What You Bring
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a Psychiatric designation along with two (2) years recent related experience in a community mental health and/or substance use setting
  • Five (5) years management/supervisory experience involving the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of staff
  • Current practising registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC)
  • Knowledge of theories, practices and principles relative to mental wellness, suicide prevention and mental health addictions services and treatment and emergency response
  • Solid knowledge of health care related legislation and practices
  • Advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills
  • Ability to continuously raise the level of care while advancing client outcomes
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to build strong teams
  • Problem‑solving and critical thinking
  • Proficient computer skills including medication administration software
