Work Arrangements:

You will work from your home office 100% of the time. You may be required to be in-person at our office in Waterloo, ON, on an as-needed basis. Sales-related roles may require travel based on the assignment.

The Opportunity:

Equitable is growing! The Director of Key Accounts is a highly influential distribution professional with exceptional relationships internally and externally. The incumbent will be accountable for key strategic relationships with select distributors and advisors who have aligned a significant portion of their business model with Equitable. Reporting to the National VP Distributor & Advisor Engagement, this role will build and maintain key relationships to achieve growth and sales targets. What you will be doing:
  • Design and implement strategies to ensure retention and growth initiatives with key accounts.
  • Manage key relationships for select distributors and advisors to ensure retention and growth.
  • Ensure excellent communication between assigned firms, advisors, and Equitable head office partners. Collaborate with operations and underwriting to support service models for Specialty Partnerships.
  • Build and enhance MGA advisor loyalty through research and collaboration.
  • Partner with the National VP Wholesaler Development and Advisor Engagement for wholesaling excellence.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with distribution partners.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, product, operations, and underwriting to prepare for changes and new initiatives in specialty partnerships.
  • Handle distributor reporting and information packages.
  • Manage MGA Marketing Allowance programs where applicable.
  • Oversee sponsorship and financial support requirements where applicable.
  • Represent Equitable at industry conferences and events, including presentations and social media engagement.
  • Collaborate across departments including Product, Underwriting, Pricing, Operations, Finance, Technology, Marketing, and Compliance.
  • Partner with S&R and Group Insurance as needed.
What you will bring:
  • 8-10 years of proven field experience in sales, ideally within the MGA or insurance distribution space.
  • A desire for new challenges and career growth.
  • A proactive mindset, ready to embrace expanded responsibilities.
  • A strategic understanding of the market landscape and client needs.
  • Ideally based in Southern Ontario.
