Director Infrastructure and Communications

About Us :

We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Infrastructure and Communications Director to lead the design, implementation, and management of our core IT infrastructure and communication systems. In this role, you will oversee networks, servers, data centers, cloud platforms, and unified communications—ensuring high performance, availability, and security across the organization. You will play a critical part in aligning infrastructure services with business needs and future growth, while maintaining robust security, compliance, and cost efficiency. Your leadership will provide a stable and secure digital foundation that enables all departments to operate smoothly and effectively.

This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer and is based in Toronto, ON.

What You’ll Do :

Drive Infrastructure Strategy and Planning

• Develop and maintain a long-term IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with business objectives
• Evaluate and plan for future technology needs, including upgrades, capacity, and scalability
• Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure infrastructure supports growth and innovation

Oversee Network and Systems Operations

• Oversee daily operations of networks, data centers, servers, and storage
• Ensure system reliability through performance monitoring and preventive maintenance
• Manage disaster recovery planning and high-availability architectures for business continuity

Manage Cloud and Hybrid Environments

• Lead the migration and optimization of workloads in cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
• Implement effective cloud governance and cost optimization strategies
• Ensure seamless performance and integration between on-premises and cloud-based services

Manage Unified Communications and Collaboration Tools

• Manage platforms for voice, video, messaging, and conferencing (e.g., Teams, Zoom, VoIP)
• Ensure high service quality, system availability, and positive end-user experience
• Promote adoption and provide guidance on collaboration tools across departments

Security, Compliance, and Vendor Management

• Ensure infrastructure complies with cybersecurity policies and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with security teams to implement robust infrastructure protection measures
• Oversee vendor relationships and contracts related to infrastructure, telecom, and cloud services

What You’ll Need :

• Deep understanding of enterprise networking, systems administration, and data center operations
• Proven experience designing and deploying complex Wi-Fi networks
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments, cloud infrastructure (with a focus on Azure), and communication platforms
• Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles and best practices as they relate to infrastructure and communications

Professional certifications required :

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
• Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication abilities
• Advanced problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Skilled in managing multiple priorities and multitasking effectively
• Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset
• Experience in the travel or hospitality industry is considered a strong asset
• Professional proficiency in Spanish would be considered a strong asset (frequent interaction with native Spanish speakers is required)
• Open to travel to Mexico and other Caribbean countries as required
