A community organization in Cranbrook, Canada, seeks a Director of Health and Wellness to oversee health programs and lead a team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have a relevant bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of experience, and strong skills in human resources and cultural competency. The position offers a competitive salary, ranging from $114,574 to $151,973 annually, along with a benefits package. Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates.
The Director of Health and Wellness is responsible and accountable for overseeing the Health and Wellness department including all activities related to community health and wellness programs and services. Including, but not limited to, policy development and administration; human resource management; management of formal plans, strategies, goals, programs and services; administration of funding agreements and contracts, in accordance with ʔaq̓am strategic plan to achieve our vision.

More About You
The successful candidate will have at minimum a bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Health Sciences, Human Services, Nursing or Management. Completion of First Nations Health Directors Association Certification Program, or willingness to achieve. Minimum of 5 years, senior level experience managing a team of employees and overseeing operations related to managing an integrated team of health and wellness professionals. Proven proficiency in human resources, developing and implementing strategic plans, negotiating agreements, policy and law development. Proof of a clear criminal record, clean driver’s abstract and a Valid Class 5 License.
Salary will commensurate with experience from a range of $114,574 to $151,973 per year and includes a favorable benefits package and pension plan. Hours of work are generally Monday to Friday 8 : 30 to 4 : 30 and are to be performed onsite.
