Job Description

We're seeking a Director of Fire Protection Engineering to spearhead technical leadership and strategic direction in fire protection engineering. As a Director, you will lead the technical aspects of fire protection engineering, focusing on innovation and technical excellence. You will provide expert guidance on complex projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the technical aspects of the fire protection engineering practice, emphasizing innovation, quality, and technical excellence.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance technical capabilities and market presence in fire protection engineering.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex fire protection engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize project delivery and workflows, integrating advanced technical methodologies.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster growth and proficiency within fire protection engineering.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous technical improvement, encouraging innovation and excellence.
  • Establish and maintain strong technical relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to support business development.
  • Monitor emerging trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation in fire protection engineering.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or equivalent certification.
  • At least 10 years of experience in fire protection engineering, with a successful track record in project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Expertise in fire modeling, performance-based design, and advanced methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to inspire technical teams.
  • Strategic thinker with experience in developing and implementing technical plans.
  • Commitment to technical quality and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as FDS, CFD, and analysis tools.
  • Willingness to travel for project support and business development.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000 CAD, depending on experience, plus performance bonuses and relocation allowance if needed.
