Director of Financial Planning & Analysis – Toronto (Onsite)

Osborne Recruitment is delighted to partner with our national client to secure a Director of FP&A to work from their Toronto office. The Director will report to the Executive Vice-President and will strategically lead the financial planning and analysis function for this well-established organization.

This hands-on individual will utilize their strong business acumen and analytical thinking to lead, collect, manage, and present the clear and concise delivery of crucial data, relevant insights and metrics to drive strategic decision making.

Role & Responsibilities :

  • Lead the FP&A Function : Oversee all aspects of financial planning and analysis, including internal reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and long-range planning.
  • Strategic Business Partner : Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to the CFO and executive leadership to support decision-making across all operational areas.
  • Performance Monitoring : Design and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance across locations and brand portfolios.
  • Regional Collaboration : Work closely with regional leadership to analyze performance drivers, identify margin improvement opportunities, and support regional growth initiatives.
  • M&A Support : Contribute to M&A efforts by leading financial due diligence, developing valuation models, and supporting integration efforts post-acquisition.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously enhance financial reporting, forecasting methodologies, and analytical tools to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Team Leadership : Manage and develop a high-performing team of 3-4 Financial Analysts, fostering a collaborative and purposeful culture.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or investment banking, ideally in automotive, retail, or multi-unit industries.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver meaningful, actionable financial insights to senior leadership.
  • Experience in M&A , including financial modeling, due diligence, and post-transaction integration.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency; familiarity with CDK, Power BI, and Looker is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
