Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Controller who is looking for a new challenge!

About the Client

We’ve partnered with an established real estate firm that is looking to add an experienced Controller to their team. The ideal candidate is a designated CPA with 7+ years of relevant experience.

About the Position

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to :

  • Oversee the accounting team and manage the full cycle accounting function.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Manage corporate and project accounting and prepare financial statements, cash flow reports, and budget variances.
  • Work in collaboration with external auditors for year-end tax and audit work.
  • Process intercompany reconciliations and file T2, T5013, GST, and PST returns.
  • Oversee accounting for income properties, including rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, and recoveries.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls across all accounting activities.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, enhancing workflows and documentation.
  • Manage project proforma, cashflow reporting, and monthly construction loan draws.
  • Ad hoc duties as needed.

Requirements :

  • Designated CPA
  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.

Compensation & Benefits :

  • Salary : $130,000 to $160,000
  • Discretionary bonus
