Job Title: Director of Finance and Administration

Your role as the Director of Finance and Administration is crucial to our mission. You will be instrumental in managing and enhancing our financial health and administrative operations. Your leadership will ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient processes across departments, contributing significantly to our mission of empowering Muslim women in leadership.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a background in finance, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Strategic Oversight: Set the strategic direction for the Finance and Administration department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Financial Health Management: Review and monitor annual operating budgets, program budgets, and variances, adjusting as needed for fiscal stability.
  3. Audit Management: Lead annual audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, working directly with auditors.
  4. Leadership and Policy Setting: Establish department policies and action plans and oversee compliance with contracts and budgetary guidelines.
  5. Fundraising Support: Guide the financial aspects of fundraising efforts, including grant application support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Relevant Work Experience: Proven experience in non-profit finance, with experience in a leadership role preferred.
  2. Education Certification: CPA designation is preferred, or other relevant finance/accounting certification or equivalent experience; MBA or similar advanced degree is an asset.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, financial reporting and analysis, including experience with accounting software QuickBooks.
  4. Finance Management: Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for non-profits, including tax and financial reporting.
  5. Administrative Skills: Project management skills to oversee administrative functions effectively.
  6. Communication and Networking Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build relationships with community partners.
  7. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills for trend analysis and strategic planning, with a proven ability to identify challenges and develop data-driven solutions.
  8. Commitment to Mission and Cultural Competence: A strong passion for ANNISAA’s mission, understanding and sensitivity to diverse populations, and a commitment to creating inclusive environments.
  9. Vulnerable Sector Check: Must provide a satisfactory Police Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check, demonstrating alignment with the Agency’s mission and commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
  1. Step 1: Submit Your Application: Submissions will be reviewed continuously, and suitable candidates may be invited to proceed to the next steps promptly.
  2. Step 2: Tele-Screening (Phone Interview): Shortlisted candidates will participate in a brief phone screening. This step focuses on getting to know you better, assessing your values, and determining cultural alignment with our team and organization. This conversation is informal and not directly related to the role's responsibilities.
  3. Step 3: First Interview (Zoom): Selected candidates will participate in a formal interview via Zoom to discuss their qualifications, skills, and how they align with the role's expectations.
  4. Step 4: Scenario-Based Home Assignment: Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a scenario-based home assignment to demonstrate their approach to relevant challenges and tasks.
  5. Step 5: Final Selection and Onboarding: Successful candidates will be informed of their selection and provided with the next steps for onboarding.
