Job Title : Finance Director

Our Client :

A global sales and distribution organization in the life sciences sector with operations across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. They are evolving their finance function to support growth, tighten controls, and improve financial operations during a period of transition.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities Include :

Monitor objectives and maintain alignment with key stakeholders

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Oversee month-end and year-end close processes for Canadian and U.S. entities

Improve existing financial processes and implement new controls, particularly around inventory management and contract handling

Develop and shape the finance organization's priorities alongside sales and service managers to support business growth and achieve profit goals

Negotiate financial contracts and banking relationships

Manage group reporting, P&L oversight, cash flow, and tax compliance coordination (Canada and U.S.)

Act as a hands-on leader - involved in journal entries and daily finance operations as needed

Maintain clear, respectful communication and strong alignment with headquarters, ensuring deadlines are met

Be approachable, open-minded, and willing to assist beyond traditional role boundaries to support business success

Qualifications and Pre-Requisites :

CPA designation or equivalent preferred

Experience supporting Canadian and U.S. entities including tax and regulatory requirements

Strong background in financial reporting, month-end / year-end close, and inventory management

Distribution industry experience required

Comfortable with SAP, Excel, and hands-on financial tasks including journal entries

Experienced in liaising with auditors, business partners, and international teams

Collaborative and patient, able to navigate a fast-moving environment with minimal training

Open-minded and communicative with a focus on respectful stakeholder relationships
