About The Role

As the Director of Finance, you’ll report to the Chief Financial Officer and oversee financial operations, treasury, audit, and partner reporting across the organization. You’ll lead the Finance Innovation and Transformation (FIT) initiative, modernizing processes and systems to strengthen our long-term sustainability. Your role will ensure financial integrity and compliance while mentoring the finance team and fostering a culture of servant leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the Controller and finance team members. Foster professional growth, succession planning, and a culture of innovation. Champion continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee accounting, payroll, accounts payable / receivable, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership.
  • Treasury Management: Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts. Partner with the CFO on debt management, investments, and banking relationships. Oversee investment portfolios and ensure compliance with treasury policies.
  • Audit & Compliance: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, coordinating annual audit processes. Design and implement an internal audit framework. Monitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Finance Innovation & Transformation: Lead the Finance Innovation and Transformation (FIT) plan. Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and system integration. Collaborate across departments to align financial transformation with strategy and service delivery.
  • Partner & Stakeholder Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely reporting to government and institutional funders. Maintain covenant compliance and represent Baptist Housing in funding discussions.
  • Leadership & Culture: Model Baptist Housing’s values and servant leadership philosophy. Foster positive, collaborative relationships with residents, families, team members, and partners.
Requirements
Education

CPA designation required.

MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in not-for-profit or public sector environments. Demonstrated expertise in treasury, audit, financial operations, and transformation initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, with a starting salary range of $150,000 to $170,000 annually. Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous four weeks of vacation.
