Director of Finance - Manufacturing (Confidential Search)

Location : Mississauga, ON

Compensation : $140K + 25% Bonus

Type : Full-Time, Permanent

We're partnering with a growing manufacturing business backed by private equity - a company that truly puts people first. It's a culture built on trust, collaboration, and the drive to keep improving. They're in a high-growth phase and need a hands-on finance leader who can help build structure while keeping pace with the momentum.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" type of finance role. You'll be the CEO's right hand when it comes to financial direction, business planning, and operational strategy. It's a great opportunity for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and loves to roll up their sleeves to drive impact.

Your Opportunity

This role is split across three major areas of responsibility :

1. 50% Accounting & Financial Operations

• Own the full accounting cycle - financial reporting, consolidations, month-end close
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning
• Improve and standardize processes across AP, AR, and GL
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and tax compliance
• Liaise with external auditors and advisors
• Ensure strong internal controls and regulatory compliance

1. 35% Business Management & Strategic Finance

• Partner directly with the CEO to shape and execute the company's growth strategy
• Use costing, margin, and pricing analysis to drive better decisions
• Support new product and customer analysis - help identify what's profitable and scalable
• Build out dashboards and reporting to give real-time visibility to leadership
• Provide insights and challenge the status quo - be a thought partner, not just a scorekeeper

1. 15% Inventory / Supply Chain Support

• Help optimize inventory tracking and valuation processes
• Work closely with operations and supply chain to align financial strategy with production realities
• Support margin improvement initiatives tied to sourcing, vendor management, and costing

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years in finance / accounting, ideally in manufacturing or product-based environments
• CPA preferred, with strong experience in both hands-on accounting and financial leadership
• Comfortable with ambiguity and building processes in a growing company
• Able to work independently, ask smart questions, and move fast with incomplete information
• Strong communicator who can collaborate with cross-functional teams and make data meaningful
• Proactive, business-minded, and excited to help scale a company that's just getting started
