We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative financial leader with a fun, outgoing personality who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, driving results, and working alongside passionate people who are building something meaningful—this role is for you.

The Director of Finance plays a critical role in overseeing our financial health and helping shape the financial strategy that supports our long-term growth. This is not a desk-bound or siloed role—you’ll be in the mix, working closely with the CEO, Advisor Board, department leaders, and the broader team to create financial visibility, optimize decision-making, and fuel performance across the organization.

We’re looking for someone who brings financial acumen, a strong bias for action, and a willingness to dig into the details while keeping sight of the big picture. You’ll lead a capable team, guide modernization efforts in reporting and systems, and help professionalize processes as we scale—while staying agile and responsive to the opportunities in front of us.

We’re on a strong growth trajectory, and this role is a chance to make a visible, tangible impact. Your fingerprints will be on every major financial decision, from job costing to capital allocation to process improvement. If you’re energized by solving problems, building from the ground up, and being part of a leadership team that takes ownership seriously, we’d love to meet you.

Why This Role is Exciting

  • Strategic Collaboration : Work directly with the COO, playing a hands-on role in shaping and executing the company’s financial direction.
  • Leadership Impact : Lead, coach, and mentor a dedicated finance team in a culture that values ideas, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Entrepreneurial Energy : Operate in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment where there’s room to innovate and freedom to build systems that work.
  • Growth Trajectory : Help us scale the business by implementing modern job costing, supporting high-impact projects, and optimizing processes that fuel our expansion.
  • Make a Visible Difference : Your leadership will directly influence reporting, operations, and strategic decisions across the company.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor the finance team, setting a high standard for collaboration, ownership, and execution.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Own the full cycle of financial operations, including banking, payroll, AR / AP, general ledger, inventory, and month-end close.
  • Ensure all manufacturing-related transactions are accurate and posted with proper cut-off procedures.
  • Drive job costing implementation and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain financial strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Build custom financial models and reporting tools to create better visibility and enable faster decisions.
  • Lead internal audits and assist with external audits and tax filings.
  • Optimize capital allocation with thoughtful forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Identify and lead process improvements across the finance function, including automation and system enhancements.
  • Take full ownership of reporting at the management and board level, raising the bar on quality and insight.
  • Collaborate across departments on strategic initiatives, cost management, and growth opportunities.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) required; CGMA designation is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing or product-based business.
  • Hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up experience across all key accounting and finance functions.
  • Proven track record of building systems, processes, and teams in high-growth environments.
  • Strong background in financial forecasting, cost accounting, and capital planning.
  • Deep understanding of ERP systems and analytics tools.
  • Ability to operate with urgency and precision under tight deadlines.
  • Clear communicator and problem solver who builds strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Base Salary : $155,000 – $185,000 annually, commensurate with experience, capabilities, and leadership impact.
  • Performance Incentives : Eligible for annual bonus tied to company performance and individual contribution.
  • Long-Term Incentives : Potential to participate in future programs for high-impact leaders contributing to strategic growth.
  • Benefits Package :
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life and disability insurance
  • RRSP matching program
  • Annual health and wellness allowance
  • Professional development support, including executive coaching or industry certifications
  • Relocation Support : May be available for the right candidate.
