Job description

The Director of Family, Children and Youth Services is responsible for the development, management, and evaluation of all programs within the department. They ensure programs reflect the organization's vision and values, adhere to standards, and deliver inclusive, high-quality services with dignity and respect, honoring diversity. The role encompasses oversight of financial, human resources, contracts, and services management.

As a key leadership team member, the Director fosters collaboration across departments and supports community engagement and inclusion. They demonstrate a commitment to Kinsight's vision and values, collaborating with staff, clients, their networks, and the community to advance strategic priorities.

Kinsight is an accredited non-profit organization supporting families of children, youth, and adults with developmental delays or disabilities. Our teams serve communities including New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra, and surrounding areas. We aim to foster vibrant, healthy communities by creating inclusive opportunities for all. We value our work and the people we serve.

Kinsight is expanding its leadership team to support growth, succession planning, and community engagement. With recent openings like the Tri-Cities Children's Centre and accessible, affordable homes, we are planning for future centers and additional community homes. Education:

  • Master's degree in Early Intervention and Family Support, Disability Studies, Social Sciences, or related fields from a recognized institution.
  • Equivalent qualifications and experience may be considered.
  • Leadership and administration coursework preferred.

Experience:

  • At least five years in senior management, overseeing program development, financial administration, human resources, contracts, and funder relations.
  • Experience with early intervention, family support programs, and community-based, family-centered service delivery, including person-centered planning and inclusion issues.
  • Proven organizational and community leadership skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including record keeping, reporting, facilitation, training, and public speaking.
  • Technologically proficient across various platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with community agencies, government systems, and services including health, education, and social services.

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Salary range: $115,000 - $125,000 annually.
  • Comprehensive, employer-paid benefits including health, dental, life insurance, sick benefits, and Employee Assistance Program.
