Under the authority of the YKDFN Government Chiefs and Council and under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of the environment division, including but not limited to management of natural resources, regulatory compliance, and environmental monitoring.
The position will also be responsible for planning, leading, and managing the environmental strategic goals of the YKDFN to ensure that traditional and natural resources are preserved and utilized sustainably for the long-term benefit of our people.
We are seeking an ideal candidate who possesses a degree in Environmental Science, Resource Management, or a diploma in an environment-related field, coupled with five (5) years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related coursework with seven (7) years of related work experience. A valid Class ‘5’ Driver’s License and personal vehicle are required.
This position will be located in the communities of Dettah or Ndilo, with periodic travel to Yellowknife.
