Job summary

Lantern is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our Product Engineering organization in Vancouver. This role owns feature delivery across multiple pods, partnering with Product and business stakeholders to translate roadmap priorities into shipped, high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading engineering managers.
• Experience standing up or restructuring teams into pod-based or iterative development.
• Deep experience delivering customer-facing software at scale with Product/QA collaboration.
• Strong judgment on modern architecture, cloud infra, CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery for multiple product engineering pods, ensuring predictable releases against roadmap.
• Stand up and scale new pods with defined team composition, cadence, and ways of working.
• Translate business requirements into executable work with clear context and constraints.
• Maintain hands-on technical expertise in design, code, and deployments.
• Coach and develop engineering managers and senior engineers.
• Drive architecture standards via platform tools with QA and Architecture.
• Drive hiring, performance, and career growth for the Product Engineering team.
• Report on delivery health, velocity, risks, and escalations to senior leadership.
• Champion adoption of Lantern’s AI-assisted SDLC tooling within pods.
