Position Overview

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is a full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider operating across North America. Our experience spans all aspects of the nuclear market, from carbon-free, small modular reactors to Department of Energy science, environmental, and nuclear security mission capabilities. We operate in the power utility, renewable energy, industrial, and infrastructure markets.

Location

This position is based in Ontario, Canada, with flexible work arrangements. Occasional travel to project sites and OPG facilities will be required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for engineering teams across Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Controls, and Civil / Structural disciplines.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet Canadian nuclear regulatory standards (e.g., CSA N-series, CNSC requirements).
  • Serve as the primary engineering liaison with OPG and other stakeholders.
  • Drive technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee resource planning, team training, development, and performance management.
  • Support proposal development, project planning, and client presentations.
  • Coordinate across disciplines for effective project delivery.
  • Promote 'fit for purpose' solutions compliant with nuclear codes and standards.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, vendor documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Identify and manage risks, scope changes, and opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil); Master’s preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Active OPG security clearance.
  • Minimum 20 years of engineering experience, with at least 10 in nuclear projects.
  • Experience with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) processes and tools; knowledge of Bruce Power processes is a plus.
  • Trained in all relevant CBTs and programs under OPG’s design and project management standards.
  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Deep knowledge of Canadian nuclear codes and standards (e.g., CSA N290, N299, N285).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with engineering analysis tools relevant to disciplines.
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver results under deadlines.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
