About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Director of Engineering to lead software initiatives. This leader will drive the modernization of our platforms through AI and emerging technologies, ensuring our systems are safe, secure, reliable, and scalable. You will play a pivotal role in transforming how we deliver value to clinicians and patients by accelerating time to value and resolving technical debt.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering teams focused on nursing support domains including clinical workflows, documentation, and care coordination.
  • Champion the adoption of AI/ML technologies to enhance product capabilities and engineering efficiency.
  • Drive architectural modernization efforts including cloud-native transformation and technical debt remediation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, SRE, and compliance teams to deliver secure and reliable software.
  • Establish and monitor engineering KPIs related to velocity, quality, and system reliability.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and grow engineering managers and senior technical talent.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of software engineering experience, including 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven success in leading engineering teams in healthcare, clinical, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and secure development practices.
  • Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML to real-world engineering problems.
  • Strong track record of managing technical debt and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with AI platforms such as Azure AI, OpenAI, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, predictive analytics, or generative AI in production environments.
  • Background in nursing support systems or clinical informatics.
  • Experience with SRE practices, observability, and incident response.
  • Passion for building inclusive, high-performing engineering cultures.
  • Strong preference to candidates located in the GTA.
Compensation and Benefits

$192,000 - $213,000 a year

At PointClickCare, base salary is one component of total rewards. The CA base salary range for this position is $192,000 - $213,000, plus bonus or commission, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by job and level, and compensation is influenced by skills, experience, and location.
