Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our technical teams and drive the delivery of product features. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS architecture, Python development, information security, and SOC 2 compliance. This role requires excellent client-facing skills, proven team management experience, a track record of successful project delivery, and a willingness to remain hands-on with development as needed. The Director of Engineering will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Architect and oversee scalable, secure solutions on AWS.
• Ensure best practices in Python development and code quality.
• Remain hands-on with development, contributing to codebases and technical problem-solving as needed.
• Act as a primary technical point of contact for clients, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Own and drive information security initiatives, maintaining and advancing SOC 2 compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, and Compliance.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in AWS architecture and services.
• Strong understanding of information security best practices and SOC 2 requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles and technical presentations.
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and scale engineering teams.
• Track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to remain hands-on with development.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience in AI / ML or SaaS environments.
• Prior experience in a high-growth technology company.
• Relevant AWS and security certifications.
