We are currently recruiting for the position of Director of Distribution and Fleet Services based out of our Distribution Centre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, this role will be responsible for maintaining and developing systems, processes, and procedures for the operation and management of the Distribution Center, Line-Haul, In-Home Delivery Team, Human Resources, Equipment, and Inventory in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

The successful candidate will also promote an environment of seamless communication between the Distribution Center, Inventory Management, Corporate Departments, and Retail Locations.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop, administer, and be accountable for the annual operating budget.
  2. Manage, grow, and ensure the success of over 35 employees and a management team of 5+ managers and supervisors.
  3. Implement controls to meet or exceed service and operational performance levels.
  4. Ensure talent management objectives are achieved through performance reviews and development planning.
  5. Adhere to health and safety, material handling, and security policies.
  6. Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Ensure compliance with safety, maintenance, transportation, and government standards.
  8. Support quality control, auditing, compliance, and training initiatives.
  9. Improve processes to maximize productivity, efficiency, and customer experience.
  10. Optimize facility resources including staff, equipment, and storage.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience in Distribution or Logistics.
  • Extensive experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial review.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of materials handling equipment and safety techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
