Job summary

City of Toronto is seeking a Director, Development & Operations to establish a modern enterprise DevOps capability and oversee end-to-end software delivery from development to production. The role focuses on improving automation, reliability and governance across large-scale municipal IT initiatives.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead cross-functional teams, advance CI/CD, and drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement to serve 2.9 million residents.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a field related to enterprise technology leadership.
• Extensive experience leading enterprise DevOps and technology delivery functions.
• Experience improving end-to-end software delivery performance and leading transformation initiatives.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technology teams and governance for enterprise services.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise DevOps capability across the City’s technology delivery.
• Direct evolution of CI/CD, developer platforms and infrastructure automation.
• Advance automated testing capabilities to improve speed and quality.
• Oversee release management, quality engineering and production reliability.
• Provide strategic advice on platform architecture and delivery risk.
