Position Summary
Memorial University's Faculty of Medicine is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to join a team supporting education and research, transforming lives, and contributing to economic growth. The Senior Development Officer will manage a diverse portfolio of donor relationships, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, and will report to the Dean of Medicine and the Associate Director, Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement fundraising strategies aligned with university goals.
- Manage a portfolio of active donors to maximize donations.
- Supervise and coach development staff.
- Support campaign fundraising and administration of fundraising processes.
- Develop and execute individual and campaign-specific fundraising strategies.
- Manage major gift portfolios, including prospect discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Support senior leadership and volunteers in donor relationship management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of fundraising activities.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in fundraising, resource development, or related fields.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience cultivating donors and securing major gifts.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Leadership ability, sound judgment, and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
- CFRE designation and experience managing staff are assets.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, attend events, and travel within the country.
