The Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal is a provincial Crown corporation of the Government of Québec. Its mission is to operate a performing arts presenting organization, manage the Place des Arts de Montréal and the Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay in Joliette, and oversee artistic programming at the Maison symphonique for organizations other than the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.

The Société de la Place des Arts manages the largest performing arts complex in Canada and is seeking the support of a Director of Corporate Affairs and Assistant Secretary General as part of its succession planning strategy.

Reporting to the Secretary General and Vice President of Corporate Affairs, you will be responsible for all legal matters affecting the organization. You will act as an advisor in identifying and mitigating legal risks and serve as a key point of contact for senior management, the board of directors, and various business units. You will oversee public tendering processes, ensuring their integrity and compliance with applicable regulations, support the procurement team in contract management, and participate in the negotiation of complex commercial agreements and partnerships. You will ensure compliance with laws and regulations applicable to Crown corporations and monitor adherence to sound governance practices. You will serve as Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors, facilitating the preparation, execution, and follow-up of board and committee meetings. You will also oversee work related to records and archival management in accordance with government standards.

Do you have at least 10 years of experience in business law and are you a member of the Quebec Bar? We would like to talk with you.
