At Cascades, you can develop your full potential sustainably by applying your expertise within the Packaging Team as the Director of Continuous Improvement.

This position requires frequent travel (around 50%) to various plants in Ontario and to our plant in Lancaster (USA).

As a member of Cascades' Operational Efficiency team, the Director of Continuous Improvement will support a group of plants in managing and developing the maturity of Cascades' Lean management model. Responsibilities include identifying improvement opportunities, solving complex problems, and managing projects. The director will collaborate with other Continuous Improvement Directors to ensure harmonized development across all plants and to align a common vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support units in their progress with the maturity of Cascades' LEAN Production System.
  • Coach, develop, and supervise employees and managers in continuous improvement activities such as loss analysis and problem solving.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement aligned with business goals.
  • Define and improve standard operating practices, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions.
  • Contribute to achieving action plans by supporting operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate implementation efforts and monitor practices related to group objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Develop and support the implementation of performance indicators.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the sustainability of the lean model through knowledge transfer and best practices.
  • Facilitate problem resolution through working sessions with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Lean Green or Black Belt, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, engagement, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in advisory roles, rigorous and action-oriented.
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills, autonomy, and responsibility.
  • Proficiency in English and French is an asset.
