We invite you to develop your full potential within our Packaging team as the Director of Continuous Improvement. Please note this role involves frequent travel (~50%) to various plants in Ontario and Lancaster, USA.

As part of Cascades' Operational Efficiency team, your mandate will include supporting multiple plants in advancing their Lean management maturity, identifying improvement opportunities, solving complex problems, and managing projects. You will collaborate closely with other Continuous Improvement Directors to ensure cohesive development across all plants and a unified vision.

  1. Support your units in progressing with Cascades' LEAN Production System maturity.
  2. Coach, develop, and supervise employees and managers in continuous improvement practices, including loss analysis and problem-solving.
  3. Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement aligned with business and local goals.
  4. Define and enhance standard operating procedures, manufacturing practices, and work instructions.
  5. Contribute to operational effectiveness by supporting action plan execution.
  6. Coordinate implementation efforts and monitor adherence to standard practices and procedures.
  7. Propose recommendations to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  8. Develop and track performance indicators.
  9. Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
  10. Support sustainability of the lean model through knowledge transfer and best practices sharing.
  11. Facilitate problem resolution through collaborative working sessions with stakeholders.

We value your strengths, including:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, or similar.
  • At least 10 years of experience in continuous improvement within manufacturing.
  • Certification as Lean Green or Black Belt, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication, engagement, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in advisory roles, with a rigorous and action-oriented approach.
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills, autonomy, and responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to Ontario and Lancaster plants.
  • Proficiency in English; French is an asset.
