Job description
About Gravity

Gravity is the platform public agencies use to manage budgeting, automate financial reporting, and meet compliance with confidence. From Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) to Budget Books to GASB disclosures, we give teams the tools to move faster, work smarter, and build public trust.

What You’ll Do

As the Director of Communications, you’ll craft the narrative that brings Gravity’s purpose to life — connecting employees to our mission and the world to our impact. You’ll be the bridge between people, purpose, and performance.

Internal Communications
  • Design and lead the internal communications strategy to keep employees informed, aligned, and inspired.
  • Partner with leaders to craft clear, consistent messaging for major company moments (M&A integrations, All-Hands, launches, etc.).
  • Develop and manage communication channels — from Slack to newsletters — that foster connection and visibility.
  • Elevate key employee engagement initiatives through storytelling and thoughtful communication planning.
External Communications & PR
  • Shape Gravity’s public voice and positioning across media, partners, and public channels.
  • Build and nurture strong media relationships; lead proactive press efforts and manage inquiries with confidence.
  • Partner with Marketing to align brand and communications across all touchpoints (social, web, campaigns).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on message, tone, and timing.
  • Steer communication through change — from acquisitions to new product launches.
  • Track and measure impact through engagement metrics and feedback loops.
  • Champion the #OneGravity narrative across every audience and platform.
What you\'ll Bring
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, PR, or brand storytelling — ideally in SaaS, tech, or a high-growth organization.
  • Proven track record designing and executing communication strategies that drive engagement and clarity.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills — clear, concise, and unmistakably human.
  • Confidence managing executive-level communications and sensitive information.
  • Experience collaborating with or managing media and PR agencies.
  • A strategic doer mindset — equally comfortable crafting the vision and rolling up your sleeves to make it real.
About you
  • You’re a natural storyteller who can translate complexity into clarity.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where no two days are the same.
  • You’re energized by the idea of shaping culture and narrative at a company that’s scaling rapidly.
  • You balance creativity with precision — and have an eye for both the details and the big picture.
  • You believe in the power of communication to unite people around purpose.
