The Opportunity

The Director of Care in the Long-Term Care Home is responsible for coordinating and scheduling resident care activities in compliance with applicable legislation, and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to achieving the optimal health and welfare of residents and staff.

What Is In It For You
  • Respond to resident or family concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within your decision-making authority or escalate to the Administrator.
  • Report complaints and concerns to the MLTC director as required.
  • Investigate and follow up on concerns and complaints.
  • Coordinate the Annual Care Conference Program.
  • Ensure the highest standards of resident care and quality of life through developing and maintaining care plans, supervising nursing staff, and managing staffing, policies, and procedures.
What You Will Need
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Long Term Care.
  • Current registration with the provincial College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post-secondary education in nursing, nursing administration, or gerontology.
  • Diploma or certificate in organizational management.
