The Opportunity :

The Director of Care of the Long-Term Care Home is responsible for coordinating and scheduling resident care activities in compliance with applicable legislation and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to achieving the optimal health and welfare of residents and staff.

What Is In It For You :
  • Respond to resident or family member concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or bring to the attention of the Administrator.
  • Report any complaints and concerns to the MLTC director as required.
  • Investigate and complete required follow-up for concerns and complaints.
  • Coordinate the Annual Care Conference Program.
  • Be accountable for the highest standard of resident care and quality of life by developing and maintaining care plans, supervising nursing staff, providing necessary equipment and supplies, and ensuring appropriate staffing, policies, and procedures.
What You Will Need :
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Long Term Care.
  • Current certificate of competence with the provincial College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post-secondary education in nursing, nursing administration, and gerontology.
  • Diploma or certificate in organizational management.
