The Opportunity

The Director of Care at our Long-Term Care Home is responsible for coordinating and scheduling resident care activities in compliance with applicable legislation, and maintaining an environment conducive to the health and welfare of residents and staff.

What Is In It For You
  • Respond to resident or family concerns, ensuring appropriate action within your decision-making authority or escalating to the Administrator.
  • Report complaints and concerns to the MLTC director as required.
  • Investigate concerns and complaints, completing necessary follow-up.
  • Coordinate the Annual Care Conference Program.
  • Ensure the highest standards of resident care and quality of life through effective care plans, supervision of nursing staff, proper equipment and supplies, staffing patterns, policies, and procedures.
What You Will Need
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Long Term Care.
  • Current certificate of competence with the provincial College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post-secondary education in nursing, nursing administration, and gerontology.
  • Diploma or certificate in organizational management.
