Qualifications

Role Description The Director of Care is a full-time, on-site leadership role located in Sarsfield, ON, responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing and clinical care within the home. This role involves managing the nursing team, coordinating resident care plans, and ensuring that care practices meet regulatory standards and organizational policies. The Director of Care leads case management activities, monitors clinical outcomes, and collaborates with physicians, allied health professionals, residents, and families to support holistic, individualized care. Day-to-day tasks include supervising staff performance, organizing training and professional development, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and managing documentation and reporting. The role also requires active participation in operational planning, resource allocation, and responding to resident or family concerns in a timely, respectful manner.

Qualifications

• Clinical expertise in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to oversee complex resident care needs and clinical decision-making.
• Experience in Case Management to coordinate individualized care plans, transitions of care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Skills in Training and mentoring clinical staff, including organizing in-service education, coaching, and competency development.
• Current RN license in good standing with the appropriate provincial regulatory body.
• 2 years of progressive leadership experience in long-term care, retirement living, or a related healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of relevant provincial regulations, standards of practice, infection prevention and control, and resident rights.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with residents, families, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, and staffing levels while maintaining high-quality care.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic office software; strong organizational and documentation skills.
