Job summary

Waste Logic Inc. is seeking a Director of Business Development for Major Accounts, a remote position in Ontario. In this role, you will leverage your 5+ years of experience in new business development to identify growth opportunities within the waste and sustainability industry, guiding clients towards sustainable solutions. You'll be tasked with preparing proposals, engaging high-level executives, and managing key business relationships, contributing directly to the company's growth.

WLI has developed a strong working relationship with over 150 service providers in the solid waste and recycling industry. Waste Logic assists clients to help create their own plans for sustainability, through levers such as waste diversion, new innovations, or employee culture. Throughout our phased process, we provide clients with expertise, tools, and data driven analytics to improve their sustainability efforts.

THE ROLE – Director of Business Development,Major Accounts – Remote (GTA, Ottawa, Montreal)

Waste Logic is in growth mode – we offer you the opportunity to grow and take that next step in your career selling nationally in Canada . We welcome applicants located in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and Montreal.

For at least the past 5 years you have developed a broad range of skills in new business development on a national scale. You are a hunter and strong relationship builder who is responsible, self-motivated, detail-oriented and a good communicator. You are a strategic thinker and will work closely with executives to achieve sales targets and expand our market presence.

Your influence and impact :

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within major or national account segments in the waste and sustainability industry
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients
  • Communicate to high level contacts at the Director, VP or C-Suite level
  • Book qualified virtual customer meetings weekly and face to face as required
  • Manage large opportunities and track prospects through HubSpot CRM
  • Achieve and / or exceed all sales targets assigned
  • Moderate travel

EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES

  • 5+ years’ experience in a new business development role working with national or major accounts
  • Experience in creating corporate sales presentations and delivering to high level leadership teams
  • Evolving new business through the sales cycle, from active prospecting to the close
  • Experience with MS Office 365, PowerPoint and CRM software
  • Energetic and friendly with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Confident self-starter with a desire to learn, preferring exceptional to the status quo
  • Exceptional verbal / written communications and comprehension with attention to detail
  • Manage multiple tasks and have exceptional follow up skills both internally and externally
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is fast paced and demands robust deliverables
  • Professional communication style, presentable and comfortable with high level company conversations, conforming with Waste Logic’s core values, Team, Be Real, Fun & Grow

EDUCATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience
