Job description

The Director, Network Build will lead a team responsible for executing all network implementation activities related to the fiber to the home and fixed wireless annual build program within a specific geographic region. Responsibilities include developing detailed designs (fiber + fixed wireless), BOM, scope prioritization, progress monitoring and reporting, risk management, and overseeing third-party contract performance.

This role necessitates extensive collaboration across a matrixed organization, including Program, Design, Supply Chain, Finance, and Network Operations teams. The Director must influence resource allocation, prioritize tasks, and drive activities to ensure the successful delivery of fiber and wireless programs, aiming for efficient capital management and timely project completion.

Additionally, this role oversees network field operations (fiber & fixed wireless), including repair and maintenance. The Director reports on network status, manages trouble remediation, scheduled maintenance, and construction execution according to engineering standards. They will develop and execute capital investment plans to meet demand and product requirements, manage regional budgets, and provide forecasting and variance reports. While not directly responsible for operating expenses, they will advise on potential opex savings and efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. 10+ years in the telecommunications industry, with wireless and wireline experience.
  2. 7+ years in senior management roles within large organizations.
  3. Extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder implementation programs.
  4. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience engaging senior executives.
  5. Strong business and financial acumen.
  6. Strategic thinking with the ability to translate plans into actionable steps.
