Join A Dynamic Team of Technical Services Professionals!

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Technical Services, the Director, Metallurgy will support a range of improvement initiatives and operational challenges across projects and mine sites in Canada and Mexico.

Role Overview

The Director, Metallurgy will provide technical support to the process teams at existing mines and projects, focusing on carbon-in-leach and heap leach operations. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President, Technical Services, and the operational teams at each site to develop and implement processing plans aligned with the company's vision. Additionally, you will support the Toronto-based Technical Services team with feasibility studies, technical report generation, and due diligence activities.

This position is based in Toronto, with regular travel to mine sites.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate, with industry best practices and operational experience, will:

  • Visit mine sites to identify, evaluate, and manage process risks, reviewing management plans, process status, and trend directions
  • Develop practical contingency plans to mitigate key risks and ensure production targets are met
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with process teams to optimize production
  • Conduct trade-off studies and estimate costs for process improvements and projects
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance

The ideal candidate will have engineering expertise and operational experience in gold processing, especially in crushing, grinding, leaching, and related technologies. Strong communication skills for reports and presentations, along with operational flexibility and willingness to travel, are essential assets.
